— NERVOUS AND MENTAL PROBLEMS —

ANXIETY - TERROR

ANXIETY: State of ill-being, agitation, helplessness; feeling threatened by imminent, undetermined danger.

TERROR: Feeling tightness in the stomach region, difficulty in breathing, oppression of the heart, a general ill-being.

Anxieties may be temporary or continuous.

Transitory anxiety - terror

ACONITUM NAPELLUS 30 C
Terror accompanying some acute condition; following the terror, fever. Terror comes on suddenly and viciously and is accompanied by congestion, headaches, giddiness and racing heartbeat, pulse. Violent anxiety; fear of death.

ARSENICUM ALBUM 30 C
Much tiredness, exhaustion, physical and mental agitation, fear of death, chills.

IGNATIA 30 C
After emotional shocks, overreaction to emotions (tears, sighs); patient feels “a lump in the throat”; is anxious, tense; has sleeplessness, improves when distracted.

Anxiety - chronic terror

GELSEMIUM 30 C
After an attack of fearfulness, or after bad news; is physically and mentally dull; fears everything; stupor; trembling; diarrhea; headaches, inability to think or concentrate.

STAPHYSAGRIA 30 C
After indignation, vexation; after having to swallow one’s anger. Person paralysed by fear; shuts her/himself away in solitude, chews over past bereavements. Overly sensitive.

CALCAREA CARBONICA 30 C
Medications for patients with a hypothyroid condition, obese and sluggish. Fear of anything new, of the future. Becomes fatigued by mental exercise, absence of initiative; easily discouraged.

PHOSPHORUS 30 C
Adolescent, thin, artistic, sentimental, passionate but quickly tired-out. Needs constant company, love. Terror and anxiety after strenuous physical and mental exertion.

DOSAGE
3 granules of medication selected 2 to 3 times per day

APPREHENSION (NERVOUSNESS, STAGE FRIGHT)
Fear of doing something badly, of speaking or appearing in public.

GELSEMIUM 30 C
Patient feels inhibited, paralysed by fear; sudden memory loss, trembling, weakness, diarrhea, need to void urine.

IGNATIA 30 C
Excessively emotional response, sighing, palpitations [racing heartbeat, pulse], feeling of having “a lump in the throat”; sleeplessness on the eve of the event.

PULSATILLA 30 C
Timid patient, terror-stricken, cries easily, always looking for consolation. Condition improves when patient is being consoled.

ARGENTUM NITRICUM 30 C
Individual in a hurry, always afraid of being late; apprehension causes diarrhea; strong desire to “give up”.

ANACARDIUM 30 C
Mental effort causes memory lapses; patient loses confidence in own memory; violent rages: condition improves while eating.

DOSAGE
3 granules (each) of selected medication(s) 2 to 3 times per day Begin on eve of trial or earlier

NEGATIVE MOOD (MILD DEPRESSION)
Pessimistic view of the world and oneself; slowing of physical, mental and sexual activity. Negative mood is accompanied by: fatigue, memory loss, general indifference, feelings of fear, sleeplessness, head aches, dizziness, pains and cramps.

IGNATIA 30 C
Negative mood following: emotional upset, silent bereavement; patient is sullen; has a lump in the throat”; improves when distracted.

ARNICA 30 C
Negative mood following physical and mental efforts; muscle stiffness, sleeplessness, fatigue, sullenness, indifference.

NATRUM SULFURICUM 30 C
Negative mood following injury to head; ill humour, difficulty in concentrating; affected by music.

NATRUM MURIATICUM 30 C
Negative mood caused by a broken and frustrated love affair; loss of weight. Depressed person who seeks solitude, is self absorbed, does not cry easily. Becomes worse when others try to provide consolation.

PHOSPHORICUM ACIDUM 30 C
Negative mood because of mental over-work; feels physically drained; vertigo, headaches. Improvement after a short sleep.

SEPIA 30 C
The woman is pessimistic, sees everything ‘in black”, has headaches, feels a “hollow in the pit of the stomach”, suffers from indifference, is sullen, wants to be alone; becomes worse when others attempt consolation.

LILIUM TIGRINUM 30 C
Negative mood after giving birth; feeling of heaviness in the hip region, very agitated, depression with much crying; becomes worse when others attempt consolation.

COCCULUS 30 C
Depression caused by repeated, prolonged sleepless nights, with nausea, dizziness, excessive sensitivity and a slowing down of mental activity. Patient answers questions slowly and may seem not to have under stood them.

DOSAGE
2 or 3 granules selected medication 2 to 3 times per day.

MIGRAINES
Migraine is a quite specific syndromes which includes head
aches, behavioral problems and vomiting. The cause is mainly unknown, but seems to require a special predisposition or tissue susceptibility.

All headaches should be evaluated by a health professional. In order to facilitate a correct choice of remedy, migraines have been considered under several headings:

MIGRAINES (location)
Select one of the following medications, depending upon location of pain (at 30 C, 3 granules 3 times per day):

MIGRAINES (from known causes)
When the causative agent of the migraine is known:

GLONOINUM 30 C
Following sun-stroke; purple face, vertigo when arising, pulsations of carotid arteries on sides of neck.

NATRUM SULFURICUM 30 C
Migraine after head injury.

NUX VOMICA 30 C
Migraine after overeating; feeling of having “a nail driven into the skull”.

COCCULUS 30 C
Migraine due to motion sickness, accompanied by nausea and vomiting.

KALI BICHROMICUM 30 C
Migraine due to sinus inflammation/infection.

PHOSPUORICUM ACIDUM 30 C
Migraine due to excessive mental effort or to prolonged sleeplessness.

IGNATIA 30 C
Migraines due to emotional upsets or bereavement.
Ophthalmic (eye) migraines
This is a type of migraine preceded by visual disturbances.

GELSEMIUM 30 C
Episodes of double vision before onset of migraine. The migraine extends from occipital to frontal areas.

IRIS VERSICOLOR 30 C
Fog in field of vision before pain begins, pain localized over the eyeballs; acid stomach; vomiting.

SANGUINARIA 30 C
Sensation of blinding light before onset of pain; cheeks, congested and red; condition improves upon rest and in darkness.

SILICEA 30 C
Feeling that environment is darkening during, and articularly after, the painful episode pain radiates from nape of neck to eyes; caused by mental fatigue and overwork.

CHELIDONIUM 30 C
Pain in ocipal region, radiating to the ears. Enlarged liver, yellow complexion.
Menstrual migraines
These migraines are related to the menstrual period, occurring just before, during or just after menstrual flow.

GLONOINUM 30 C
Migraines before menstrual period. Severe congestion, influx of blood, red face, vertigo [dizziness] when standing. Mi-graines when menstrual flow is late or absent.

CIMILIFUGA RACEMOSA 30 C
Migraines during menstrual flow; pain at crown of head; patient feels “head will explode”; pains in proportion to intensity of menstrual flow; patient excited and agitated.

CINCHOMA OFFICINALIS 30 C
Migraines during menstrual flow; buzzing in the ears; exhaustion; migraines due to large volume of menstrual flow; sensitive scalp; improved by applying pressure.
Migraines due to digestive system
These migraines are due to digestive upsets.

IRIS VERSICOLOR 30 C
Hyperacidity of stomach; vomiting with burning sensation; burning of oesophagus and stomach [heartburn]; pain over eyeballs.

KALI BICUROMICUM 30 C
Inflammation of stomach, vomit thick and yellow, gastric ulcers. Common among beer-drinkers.

DOSAGE
Take selected medication(s) 3 to 4 times per day. Consult your health professionalif symptoms persist.

RESTLESSNESS
Restlessness is an abnormality of behaviour characterized by excessive and disorganized motor activity. There are several levels of restlessness, ranging from the simplest instability to aggressive excitation.

ARGENTUM NITRICUM 30 C
The patient appears to be in a hurry, impatient, with trembling aggravated by anxiety and emotions. Agitated, poorly coordinated, giddiness. Afraid of being in public places, large stores, crowds. Burning stomachaches.

LACHESIS 30 C
Mentally overstimulated in the evening and at night. Patient is particularly talkative, rambling from subject to subject. Attacks of jealousy and depression; tendency to be alcoholic.

NUX VOMICA 30 C
Irritable, angry, aggressive patient. Intolerant of difficulties, contradiction, restraints. Is aggressive and verbally abusive; Always hurries and is impatient. Overworks. Sleep comes late and fails to be restful; ill-tempered in the morning. NUX VOMICA is the remedy for an aggressive sedentary individual.

COFFEA 30 C
Insomnia with intense mental activity and thought processes;great excitement from joyous and pleasant events; excessive responses to sensations; trembling of extremities.

CHAMOMILLA 30 C
Camomile is the great remedy for children: violent rages, when the child becomes red in the face, hits the floor, rolls about on the ground, breaks its toys, attacks those around her/him. Anger decreases when infant is cuddled and rocked or taken out in a stroller

DOSAGE
3 granules of selected medication 2 to 3 times per day.

TRANSIENT SLEEPLESSNESS
Difficulty in falling asleep, or repeated awakening during sleep. Before considering homeopathic therapy, make certain that the condition is not due to poor life-style or bad hygiene.

NUX VOMICA 30 C
Sleeplessness after excessive intake of food or alcohol. This is the medication of active, irritable, ill-tempered and aggressive sedentary individuals. Bad-tempered in the morning; difficulty in falling asleep.

COFFEA 30 C
Sleeplessness after too much coffee or after receiving good news. Sleeplessness accompanied by mental excitation.

ARNICA 30 C
Sleeplessness after excessive physical effort. Feeling of stiffness; muscle aches.

NATRUM MURIATICUM 30 C
Sleeplessness after grief or a disappointment in love. Depression, search for solitude, weight loss.

DOSAGE
3 granules of selected medication
when going to bed.
