— DENTAL PROBLEMS —

FEAR OF DENTIST
One must closely observe every patient’s reaction to this, quite common, fear of the dentist.

ACONITUM NAPELLUS 30 C
Intense fear, anxiety when seeing the dentist’s instruments; sudden terror.

GELSEMIUM 30 C
Nervous weakness, trembling. Patient calls to mind situations causing anxiety; feels weak, fears and anticipates pain.

IGNATIA 30 C
Fear that causes a “lump in the throat”. Patient is tired, extremely nervous; sighs a lot.

CHAMOMILIA 30 C
Highly unpleasant child, capricious, naughty, anxious, agitated. Overly sensitive.

DOSAGE
3 granuies of selected medication onboth eve and day of visit to dentist

GINGIVITIS
Inflammation of the wet surface covering the gum. Gums receding, bleed easily and are sensitive to touch.

MERCURIUS SOLUBlE IS 6 C
Gingivitis in which edge of gums is whitish; tongue is coated with a yellow-white substance that preserves tooth imprints. Much saliva, intense thirst; bad breath.

BAPTISIA 30 C
Foul-smelling, repulsive breath; tongue dry, burning, painful: at first, vividly red, then blackish.

ARSENICUM ALBUM 6 C
Lips, gums and tongue dry. Ulcers, blisters; much saliva.

NITRICUM ACIDUNI 6 C
Ulcers bleed readily; intense pain, as if splinter had been n.m into gum; irritating saliva.

DOSAGE
3 granules of selected medication 3 to 4 times per day.
Take together with PHOSPHORUS 6 C, 3 granules 3 to 4 times per day, if bleeding is frequent.

TOOTHACHE
Teeth are sensitive by nature. Therefore, pain before and after an intervention affecting a tooth, is normal.

Homeopathy can affect only hypersensitivity [over-sensitivity]to pain.

CHAMOMILLA 30 C
Particularly for moody or angry children. Tantrum when sitting in dental chair; one cheek red, the other pale.

COFFEA 30 C
Mental intolerance of pain: patient agitated, crying; hands shake.

NUX VOMICA 30 C
Patient is exasperated, enraged; suffers cramps. Associated with various digestive problems.

HEPAR SULFURIS CALC 30 C
Hypersensitivity to pain. The patient is in bad temper, dissatisfied; pain seems disproportionate to paincausing event.

TOOTH EXTRACTION

Preparing for Tooth Extraction
Select an anxiety-relieving medication from the Section “Fear of Dentist”.
Take together with:

ARNICA 30 C
The medication for injuries.

CHINA 30 C
To lessen bleeding and increase clotting of blood.

DOSAGE
3 granules (each) of selected medication(s) to reduce anxiety, together with the two other medications, on the eve and again on the day of extraction.

After the Extraction:

ARNICA 30 C, To be taken for 3 to 4 days.

HYPERICUM PERFORATUM 30 C, To be taken when the local anesthetic is wearing off.3 granules every 2 hours, then 3 granules 3 times per day.
